Simon’s Campervan and Motorhome Tips

A few ideas from my weekend away, take what helps, ignore what isn’t. Always happy to share a few lessons from our time in the van.

Top tip sheet

Always check all draws are locked before driving away, it’s a terrific shock when the draws slide open at the first corner.

For a really good night’s sleep it’s worth making sure the van is as level as it can be.

Sleeping in a van is so good you or a fellow traveler might be more relaxed than usual. Don’t let snoring spoil your well earned break, bring a packet of ear plugs.

Bring a big bag for laundry and try not to overpack

Packing the van to leave a site

Packing the van to leave a site is super easy and quick, but emptying the grey water and toilet always takes a little longer than you think. If you are on a busy site best to allow 30 minutes if you have a tight schedule or a time to be somewhere.

Don’t let the water tank run out, the last few litres always seem to go very quickly. It’s annoying for you but can actually cause expensive damage to the hot water system.

Always have a fan for the summer

Remember your rubber gloves and wipes
