Itinerary
After collecting your chosen campervan or motorhome from the 365camperhire.co.uk depot, your driving holiday to Snowdonia will begin.
Drive towards the walled market town of Conwy. This small town is a world heritage site with an 13th-century old castle, known as Conwy Castle. Located close to the mighty mountains of Snowdonia, Conwy is an exciting town capturing more tourists every year. Spend the first three days of your motorhome holiday exploring everything Conwy has to offer. In the evenings head to your preferred campsite and relax. You might want to visit Riverside Touring & Holiday Park and set up camp here for the next three nights.
Located in the heart of the historical town, Conwy Castle still stands tall today with over 700 years of history. The Castle was built by Kind Edward 1 between the years of 1283-1287. You can enter Conwy town via the suspension bridge, and the Castle will be visible from across the bridge. Admission prices may apply.
A popular destination with 365camperhire guests, and loved by tourists alike, is the Smallest House In Britain, known locally as the Quay House. The red painted house was last lived in by Robert Jones who was 6ft 3 inches tall. Pay a visit to the house, and imagine living in this enclosed environment.
Take a day trip to the town of Llanrwst. This small town is filled with amazing walks and adventures and will add a unique experience to your Snowdonia road trip allowing you to experience the authenticity of Wales.
From the Fairy Falls Waterfall, to Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant, Conwy has it all for a peaceful experience over the next three days.

That’s good to know…
The drive to Conwy is over 4 hours long. If you are making the drive from the Bunk Campers London depot straight after a flight or other travelling ventures, then you might want to head straight to your first campsite and take the evening to relax and recharge.

Conwy Castle was used by the Royalist regime, when the Civil War broke out in Wales in 1642, where Royalist forces were fighting parliamentary forces. After the castle was used by the Royalist regime, it was captured by Parliamentary forces. If you plan on visitng this Castle, make sure to take in all the historic beauty it offers.

You can also visit the 16th century Plas Mawr town house located in the heart of Conwy. It said known locally, that Plas Mawr house is the finiest house of its era.
You might also want to visit Bodnant Gardens, one of Wales’ best gardens with stunning views and gorgeous garden walks.
Close to the Smallest House, you will find Conwy Marina and Ouay. Stop here and enjoy a stroll along the river side, the RNLI boathouse and more.
Make your way towards Betws-y-Coed a beautiful village in the Conwy valley. This village is often referred to as the Gateway to Snowdonia.
With stunning views of Gwydr Forest, Betws-y-Coed is the perfect location to explore all that North Wales has to offer.
Explore the village’s many shops and cafes before taking a walk to the nearby Swallow Falls, where you can admire the stunning waterfall.
Get your thrills at Zip World and enjoy adventures for the whole family. Zip World is home to the UK’s only alphine coaster and Europe’s highest giant swing. Now, that would create memories of a lifetime for your motorhome advdenture.
Head towards the Glyderau mountain range, and enjoy unqiue views of some of the most majestic and inspiring routes in Snowdonia. At this mountain, five of the highest summits in Wales can be found. Attracting over half a million visitors a year, this mountain range is a National Nature Reserve. Glyderau derives from the Welsh word “Cludair”, meaning a heap of stones.
Pen Y Pass is a mountain range in Snowdonia. The three main walking routes available from Pen Y Pass are PYG Track, Grib Goch and Miners’ Track. From Pen Y Pass you can reach the top of Snowdon in approximately 6 hours. Remember to pack a bag for the hike, bringing snacks, water and layers. Walking trainers are reccomended but you can also manage the climb with regular walking trainers.

Upon arriving at Llyn Gwynant Campsite take time to explore the immediate stunning surroundings and enjoy the views. The campsite is found at the foot of the largest mountain in Wales, Snowdon.
Facilities include toilet blocks, laundry rooms, a food outlet which offers evening meals and a licensed bar and more.

If you are planning to visit and hike Pen Y Pass, we recommend checking the car park and general rules before. The car park requires a booking from April to October.

Betws-y-Coed has something for everyone. The famous Marin Trail for mountain bikers takes you through the heart of the forest.
If you are a fan of live music, then head out in the evening and enjoy the night life and live music. You can also visit the Welsh Male Voice Choir at St. Mary’s Church.
Your next stop is the village of Beddgelert in the Snowdonia area of Gwynedd. This picturesque stone-built village gives you an authentic looking into Wales. Beddgelert is locally known as a ‘Place of Legend’ with a deep and rich history.
From Beddgelert you can enjoy the beautiful Aberglaslyn Pass and the Nant Gwynant valley.
Head to Llyn Dinas, a lake approximately a 5.8 km walk from Beddgelert. You can also visit Lake Padarn, a glacially formed lake.
Head back to Llyn Gwynant Campsite for the night.
Over the next two days, spend time exploring Coed-y-Brenin and it’s surrounding areas of natural beauty.
You can visit Harlech Castle, one of Edward I’s mighty fortresses, offering amazing views of Snowdonia as a backdrop. This castle, along with Conwy, Caernarforn and Beaumaris, are held as World Heritage Site.
Take a trip to the village of Portmeirion which was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975. The houses within the village are ornamental and completely unique to this area of Wales. Spend time exploring everything this village has to offer. Give Snowdonia’s National Park all the time it deserves. Also known as Eryri National Park, it is a loved landmark in Wales during to its towering peaks and stunning valleys. The park includes 9 mountain ranges and 74 miles of coastlines. The more time you have to explore the Park as your own pace, the more enjoyment you will receive.
Located with the Park, you will find Llyn Tegid, Wales’ largest natural lake. At 3.5 miles long, the lake is often popular for water spots, canoeing, fishing and windsurfing.

To fish at Llyn Tegis, you will need a fishing permit granted by Snowdonia National Park Authoirty. Learn more about fishing permits here.
At Llyn Tegis, you might meet the warden who provides advice to visitors. If you have any questions while at the lake, might sure to look out for the warden and ask him any questions you may have.

Take a trip to visit Barmouth Beach, Snowdonia’ most popular seaside resort. The beach is vast and is ideal for bathing and watersports. It also has good disabled access to the beach and a range of shops, cafes and pubs located nearby.
Arthog a village in the Gwynedd area of North Wales, has a small comminity on the hills of Mawddach’s southern shore.
Spend time at Cregennan Lakes and enjoy monumental views of Mawddach Estuary and Barmouth Bridge. Cregennan Lakes provides a gentle and peaceful walk. The lake is home to blue and rainbow trout and a range of other wildlife.
Venture to Dolgellau. Often referred to a one of the most beautiful places in Snowdonia. You can make you mind up on that at the end of your Snowdonia driving holiday. Dolgellau is a somewhat hidden gem in Snowdonia, often over-looking as a popular staycation and destination to visit in North Wales. Yet, with magificant beauty, Dolegllau deserves all the love and appericate you can give it. Stunning walks surround Dolgellau including Torrent Walk & Precipice Walk, with the populatiity of the walks dating back to the Victorian and Edwardian Times.
Near the town of Dolgellau, you will find Cadair Irdris-Penygadair a mountain in the area of Gwynedd. Located in the southern end of Snowdonia National Park, the mountain has accessible paths and two shorts, yet steep trails.

That’s good to know…
If you prefer a quieter and less-crowded walk, try to avoid Cadair Irdris-Penygadair on the weekend and bank holidays. The best time to visit is on the weekdays in spring or autumn.
Also in Arthog, you can enjoy farm and pony trekking at Bwlchgwyn.
